From Clear Lakes...To Rolling Hills...

A Captivating Resort in the Texas Hill Country

The drive in reminds you of mountain switchbacks in Colorado...

When you come around the last curve you know you are there even before you see the sign.  As you drive across the dam dividing two of the crystal clear spring fed lakes you hardly notice the spacious RV sites nestled among the trees.  Pulling up to the Lodge to register, you get your first glimpse of the pool with its covered areas and cabana service bar.  The extensive landscaping is manicured and the interior of the lodge is reminiscent of a ranch home in a Hollywood western.

Howdy, and welcome to the new generation of campground.  Camping?  Oh yes, this 100 acre preserve tucked into a picturesque valley in the Texas Hill Country less than 2 hours from San Antonio and Austin is a public campground.  This truly unique property offers camping for all types. Full service RV hook-ups are available like those at numerous RV Parks in the area.  These, however, offer unobstructed views of the beautiful scenery and a privacy not found in any RV Park.  In addition, quaint log cottages are available for those preferring the Bed & Breakfast style visit.  For the truly adventurous, wilderness tent sites are available and for those who want to be adventurous, but are not...you can arrange to have a tent site with water, electricity, and the tent already set up upon your arrival.  Whatever your choice of lodging, the amenities are there for your enjoyment...from the comfortable main lodge to the activity pool or the adult only spa area.  Four miles of well maintained walking trails take you from the manicured lawns of the lower portion of the property up past the clear upper lake all the way to the cave.  Your last campground did have a cave, didn’t it?

More than just a campground Koyote Ranch has been developed to offer a truly natural experience.  The owners of Koyote Ranch have gone to great lengths to show guests the true natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country rarely seen from the main road.  Dotted along walking trails winding through the park are sitting areas, nature observation decks, and even a natural restroom facility.  The property rises over 300 feet from the lower lakes to the top of the park.  A 2000 foot elevation in the middle of the country offers star gazing second to none. On clear Texas nights the stars are indeed big and bright!

Low environmental impact has been a focus of the owners from the beginning of the project.  Xeriscape and natural landscaping has been used extensively.  The owners of Koyote Ranch make it clear they want their guests to be comfortable, but they also want to allow them a more natural experience.

When you are not fishing in one of the stocked lakes or meandering through the property on the well maintained trails, relax at the lodge. This limestone ranch house design complex offers comfortable meeting rooms and over 1,500 square feet of covered porch rocking chair space. Even the usual park store has been revamped at Koyote Ranch. On site here is the open to the public Koyote Creek Mercantile, a “true” general store. Any and all camping needs you might have are here. Along with usual necessities are items that might seem to become necessary after a few days at Koyote Ranch. From top of the line binoculars and high end camping gear to a big burger and a cold beverage, the friendly staff is ready to help.

In short if you are looking for an opportunity to see the Hill Country in all its natural beauty, but want the comforts of home and more, this is the place for you.  From the full time camper to the novice to all the B&B lovers, Koyote Ranch has something for you.  This is the next generation of camping and it looks like the future is in good hands.
